Apple iPhone 3G gets update with 2.1 firmware
It seems like Apple is getting its 2nd update for their Apple iPhone 3G customers on Friday. This new firmware was announced at the media event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in downtown San Francisco, hosted by Steve Jobs.
This update will be completely free for iPhone users. The new update aims to resolve issues related to application dropped calls, Battery life, application crashes. This wil also enable users to backup their files in shorter time after the upgrade. For iPod customers the 2.1 update for iPod touch users is actually available today.
The 2.1 update is free for iPod touch users who purchased the 2.0 update but will cost $10 to those who are upgrading from 1.x.
