EQO launches Beta application for Windows Mobile

Published: Oct 8th, 2007 | Author: Roman

EQO (pronounced echo) is a mobile VoIP and IM application that offers hybrid VoIP calling, text messaging and multi-IM access to MSN, AIM, Yahoo, ICQ, Googletalk and Jabber.

We launched a Java version of EQO a few months ago and we’ve been working on a version to run natively on WinMo 2003, 5 and 6. Moving to a native version provides us with a few key features, namely:

  • It is integrated with the `Today screen’ that makes it easier to see your EQO contacts online.
  • It is tied to the native WinMo phonebook which also lets us support up to 3,000 contacts.
  • It uses the WinMo telephony features that results in a better calling experience.
  • We built an integrated IM experience for multiple IM services that makes it easier and faster to navigate across different IM identities and simultaneous chat sessions.

Obviously your opinion counts for a lot and it’d be great to get your feedback and suggestions on our beta client. To give you a chance to test drive the new application, we’ll get you set up with $10 in EQO credits to try the calling and texting features when you register at http://www.EQO.com.

Hot tip from Shannon Kel. Thanks.
