Google brings Location-Aware Searches to Windows Mobile
In our last few posts we have been mentioning the way mobile search is taking its space in devices, before it was Microsoft to provide Live Search to BlackBerry devices and now it is Google that have made its location-aware search function available to a wide range of Windows Mobile devices.
The search functionality encompasses Google Gears software to be installed on the handset. The search funtionality offer a location based preferential search by which the search engine grabs information about the cell towers near you and searches results are tailored based on your location rather than you having to enter one.
This location based search with My Location will be available in the US and UK for intial trial period. Here is how you can do that - visit google.com from your phone and click on the My Location link under the search box (you may have to refresh the page to see the link).
