Oslo, Norway and Tokyo, Japan - April 3, 2007 - Opera Software and Japan’s newest 3G operator, EMOBILE, today announced that the Opera Mobile browser will be pre-installed on its first device, the Sharp EM·ONE. The EMOBILE service along with the Sharp EM·ONE is available in Japan as of March 31, 2007. EM·ONE runs on Windows Mobile 5.0 with HSDPA communications service and offers a maximum downlink speed 3.6 Mbps.

The EM·ONE has a unique dual slide system. Slide in one direction for the QWERTY keyboard or slide the opposite direction for the arrow key. It also has a 4.1 inch WVGA screen, allowing ample room for speedy Web surfing with Opera Mobile 8.7 for Windows Mobile.

“Opera is the only browser that can use EM·ONE ’s big screen and high-speed network to the fullest,” said Yoshitaka Agatsuma Vice President Service and Product Development Division at EMOBILE. “We hope people carry around this handy device to get the full, rich Internet in cafes or just walking around town. It feels like you’re surfing with your regular PC.”

“The EMOBILE EM·ONE is one of the most exciting mobile browsing experiences possible,” says Roger Carlhammar, EVP Mobile, Opera Software. “We are pleased to see that the Opera’s speed and usability can deliver great web experience on their high-performance device.”

The EMOBILE EM·ONE is available as of March 31, 2007.
