Linux available on the iPhone and iPod Touch
Very recently, the Linux 2.6 kernel has been ported over the iPhone and iPod Touch. At this point of time, the iPhone Linux is still only in the developmental and testing stages and hence, there are some features that are missing yet, like touchscreen, baseband support, sound, wireless networking, accelerometer and so on. Some important drivers are missing as well, so this device is not ready for newbie users just as yet.
Right now, the device has a serial driver, framebuffer driver, MMU, Interrupts, Serial over USB driver and so on. The development team is working hard to achieve its goal and expects that all features will soon be ready to support the first and second generation iPhones and first generation of iPod Touch. Take a look at the product here.
