Opera and Onet partner in Poland
Opera Software, the pioneer in delivering dynamic Web experiences, today partnered with Onet.pl, Poland’s largest Web portal, to provide new and enhanced Web services tailored to Polish consumers. By intertwining Opera’s popular Web browsers for PCs and mobile phones with Onet’s portal services, users have many new options to get their favorite Onet content wherever they are and whatever device they use to access the Web.
“Today, two great brands have joined forces to give Polish consumers something specially suited to what they want,” said Lukasz Wejchert, CEO, Onet.pl. “Integrating our services with Opera, we can completely optimize the Web experience for Polish users. Together, we will provide an easy and convenient method for using all of Onet’s services from whether you choose Opera’s browser for your PC or Opera Mini, the browser for your mobile phone.”
Initially, Opera and Onet.pl are integrating the following services:
- Onet.pl search field in Opera’s popular Speed Dial start page
- Onet Lite, Onet’s mobile version of their portal, in Opera Mini
- Zumi, Onet’s pioneering local search, as a second search service featured in Opera Mini
“Poland has always been good to Opera and today we can really give something back,” said Jon von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. “Our partnership with Onet means we can offer Polish users more convenient ways to find the information that matters to them and use Onet’s services on their own terms. This is a wonderful opportunity to prove our commitment to Poland and say thanks for their long-standing support.”
Separately today, Opera officially inaugurated its office in Wroclaw, Poland to tap into the country’s pool of talented engineers and further solidify Opera’s commitment to Polish users.
