Self-Power Display is developed by Motorola and Nokia
SlashPhone writes: “The New Scientist Print edition reports about an exciting innovation from Motorola. According to I4U News, the company developed a LCD Display with a solar panel behind the screen. For the time being, Nokia is also working on a self-powered display and has a 200×200px screen prototype in their lab.”
“The Motorola solution is using a polymer film-based color filters that reflects only narrow bands of red, blue and green light. “This is enough for us to see color images on the display, but the filter gives way to other wavelength to reach the solar panel,” the report said.”
