Like many other flip phones, the 8220 smartphone has an external LCD for offering preview of incoming emails, text messages and phone calls without opening the handset. What makes different this phone from other flip devices is the QWERTY keyboard that makes typing messages and dialing numbers fast and easy.

BlackBerry Flip 8220 offers a GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GPRS and EDGE, Wi-Fi, a Bluetooth 2.0. The 8220 offers full support for mp3 ring tones, smart dialing and conference calling. 8220 has an advanced media player which supports most of the popular formats.

RIM has not disclosed the availability of this device yet and also there are no details on the price of BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 so Spanish users have to wait a bit longer.
